Polaris Shipping Co. has ordered 3 heavy carriers. The 325,000-ton iron ore carriers will replace aged ships, especially following the recent sinking of the VLOC-Stellar Daisy. Further details of the deal were not revealed and the company could not be reached for comment. Polaris Shipping is currently operating with a fleet of 31 bulk carriers.

Corpus welcomes (VLCC) Anne

The Corpus port has welcomed the very large crude carrier (VLCC) Anne. It is the largest oil tanker ever to call at a Gulf of Mexico port. The 1,093-foot-long ship is capable of holding more than 2 million barrels of oil. The arrival of the VLCC may reflect the port’s commitment to becoming a major exporter in the Permian Basin.
The Seatriumph large carrier has recently joined Thenamaris' fleet. Construction was completed this month by the Korean shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI). The vessel has a market value of USD 78.04 million.
