Pirates Attack Oil Tanker in Nigeria

On November 1. tanker was attacked by armed pirates and managed to escape. The crew secured all access to the vessel and retreated into the citadel. Shortly after, a Naval vessel arrived at the scene causing the pirate group to retreat.
The attack happened ten days after crew members of a Panamax containership Demeter were kidnapped.

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) and COSCO Shipping have confirmed ownership of YAMAL LNG carriers. LNG vessels are intended for the Yamal LNG Project, but there were not many details given. The total number of vessels will be increased to 17 in 2020.

GoodBulk Plans to Buy 13 Carriers

GoodBulk Ltd has entered into an agreement to acquire 7 to 13 bulk carriers from CarVal Investors. GoodBulk will pay up to USD 10.5 million for 7 carriers which will be delivered to their owner in year 2017-2018.
 
GoodBulk has the option to acquire additional 6 Capesize vessels.

Korea Lines orders two bulkers

Korea Lines Corporation has ordered two bulkers and the company would be paying USD 164 million. According to Yonhap, Hyundai Heavy Industries will construct the two vessels and deliver them to a new owner in 2020.
